When you have sensitive skin like I do, finding a facialist is like trying to find a good man in Los Angeles. You have to go on multiple, horrific, cringe worthy dates before you find one that fits your lifestyle, needs, budget and encourages you to be the best version of yourself. The problem is, after one too many nearly traumatizing spa “dates,” jumping back into bed with a new facialist can be daunting.
Will she be aggressive, will the products irritate my skin, will she care about my needs, am I wasting my time and money on this treatment? All valid questions and fears. And exactly the thoughts running through my head before heading into Natural Feeling Spa for a facial with Adina Diaz two weeks ago.
I’d been burned before, literally, and the months it took to recover from the irritation breakouts was near heartbreak. But, I knew if I was ever going to find “the one” I had to put myself back out there again, so after having one of the best herbal body wrap treatments EVER with Adina, I decided to take a chance and booked a facial at her nontoxic, green spa, Natural Feeling Spa.
Now, while I could go through the ins and outs of the treatment – how she cleansed, prepped, and gently exfoliated, massaged and rehydrated my skin – there’s no need to beat around the bush with this one. I’m just going to say the facial I had at Natural Feeling Spa with Adina was hands down the best facial I’ve had in years. Not months, years. It was the best facial I’ve had in YEARS. Okay, I’ll stop now.
I walked out of there with stronger, un-congested, brighter and smoother skin sans any redness or irritation. In part, because Adina knows her s*&#$ but also because she heard me when I said, “my skin is sensitive to over exfoliation, please be gentle.”
The words resonated and she crafted a facial around this information. One that included an ultra gentle pumpkin enzyme peel, which she left on for, maybe, one minute; a diamond microdermabrasion treatment set on the lowest setting possible; organic, natural skincare made without harsh chemicals from Lotus Moon; healing rose quartz and blue lapis crystals, which she placed in my palms while she worked; and the calming vibrations of Tibetan music bowels throughout.
By the end of it, the bumpy patches around my jawline were gone. My skin looked bright, radiant and clear, like I’d just drank a gallon of water and actually been following my diet goals of no dairy or gluten. There was absolutely no redness and everywhere I touched felt smooth. I freaked out when I looked in the mirror. Thank god, no one else was in the spa.
So, if you’re looking for a good facial, regardless if it’s at a green spa or not, I highly recommend you go see Adina Diaz at her green spa – Natural Feeling Spa. The wealth of knowledge, the gentle touch, I mean, I could go on and on here, but I’d rather you just go there and thank me later.
