Review: I am very torn about this organic body scrub. On the one hand, it is one of the best body exfoliants that I have ever experienced; the granules exfoliate and reveal brighter, softer skin, while staying on the skin during scrubbing, not flaking off like most, and the anti-inflammatory and hydration benefits improve overall skin quality.
But on the other, the price is soooo painfully expensive. If it was $90, I could see myself buying this item again and again, but at $172 – eeeeekkkk – I don’t know. Let me clarify that my wavering is not due to the quality because it for sure stands up to the price, but rather my own threshold for what I’m, personally, willing to spend on a specific item. I guess my face is worth $172, but I’m not sure my body is.
The directions instruct to use this organic body scrub once a week to detoxify the lymph (you’re meant to scrub your extremities from the ends upwards and inwards toward the heart) and exfoliate the skin. I love the texture so much, I can barely resist using it less than every other day. It’s been two weeks and I’m now halfway through the jar Susanne Kaufmann’s PR team kindly sent me and I’m already anxiously concerned with how I’m going to stretch the remains and savor every last drop.
The jojoba, sesame and apricot seed oil oil leave my skin silky, nourished and less crackly (how I long for my 20 year old skin, sigh) by preventing trans epidermal water-loss and supporting barrier function. The bamboo extract, which is rich in silica, an essential nutrient known to stimulate collagen, improves skin texture and tone. And cardiospermum Halicacabum (is it silly this ingredient name makes me giggle? I’m so immature…) works as a powerful anti-inflammatory.
With this scrub, my skin texture, tone and hydration has improved, and with each use, I lavish in the superior experience and feel of the product. But the fact that it’s also organic is the cherry on top.
Therefore, if you can afford it, I HIGHLY recommend you make this your go-to body exfoliant, but since I’m still living life on a blogger budget, I’ll have to just enjoy my PR gifted jar down to the last drop and hold onto the memories of this product until my budget will allow for a repeat splurge on this organic body scrub.
Texture: Thick gel with round granular beads
Tips: Use sparingly. I recommend two teaspoons per area. It does spread well, so don’t overdo it.
