When you think of natural, holistic, organic – Palm Beach – may not be what comes to mind. But tucked away amongst the fast cars, luxury resorts and plastic visages is the Tammy Fender Palm Beach Spa, which boasts natural remedies centered around Tammy’s holistic skincare line and bookings that fill up a year in advance. I tested out the Tammy Fender Cleansing Milk, Tres Rose Body Oil and the Spontaneous Body Cream. Of the three, the Spontaneous Recovery Cream captured my heart! Read on for the full review of all three products.
Product: Tammy Fender Cleansing Milk
Skin type: Mature, Dry, Sensitive
Best for: Dry skin types that don’t wear too much makeup
Ingredients: Lavender Water, Chamomile Flower Water, Rose Flower Water, Olive, Glyceryl Stearate, Octyl Dodecanol, Beeswax, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Myristoyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Cococyl Amino Acids (Apple), Sunflower Seed Oil, Marigold Flower Extract, Myrrh Extract, Carrot Seed Extract, Fo-Ti Root Extract, Matricaria Flower Extract, Elderberry Flower Extract, Lily Flower Extract, Glycolopids, Sclerotium Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Lavender Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Sodium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Lecithin, Potassium Sorbate.
Review: I love lavender, but it always surprises me when it is added to a product that is for sensitive skin types because essential oils can be irritating. For me personally, I did find that this product irritated my skin a little bit (but I am dealing with peri oral dermatitis and essential oils are a no-no).
The texture feels like a lotion and glides on well, but needs to be rinsed off right away. I made the mistake of massaging it on and then going to the bathroom. When I returned to wash it off most of the product had absorbed into my skin!
Also, the product left a little bit of a lotion-y film on my skin after using and I needed to wash again with a foaming cleanser. I also had trouble taking off all of my makeup with the Tammy Fender Cleansing Milk. I suggest using a makeup remover and then this cleanser.
Scent: Strong lavender scent
Tips: Don’t massage in for too long and rinse quickly after applying
Price: $55, 6oz – credobeauty.com
Product: Tammy Fender Tres Rose Body Oil
Skin type: All skin types
Best for: Those who need hydration, love roses and don’t mind the price tag
Ingredients: Soybean Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Avocado Oil, *Rose Hip Seed Oil, Pure Essential Oils of Bulgarian Rose, Bois de Rose, Rose Geranium, Rose Maroc.
Review: This is a really beautiful product, especially, if you love the scent of roses. It glides on as a light oil, readily absorbing into the skin. You’ll feel feminine, gentle and soothed after applying this oil all over post hot shower or long bath. I love that they use Bulgarian Rose Oil, which is a super concentrated rose oil, but I just don’t love the price. Ninety-five dollars feels a little steep for the size.
Scent: Intense rose scent
Tips: Apply onto damp skin for best absorption
Price: $95, 8oz – tammyfender.com
Product: Tammy Fender Spontaneous Recovery Cream
Skin type: Dry, Damaged, Dehydrated, Sensitive, Mature
Best for: Repairing skin at night or protecting it during the day
Ingredients: Helichrysum Flower Water, Chamomile Flower Water, Lavender Water, Olive Fruit Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Octyl Dodecanol, Stearyl Olivate, Milk Thistle, Avocado Oil, Behenyl Olivate, Beeswax, Chamomile Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Phosphate, Sclerotium Gum, Lavender Oil, Chamomile Oil, Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Elderberry Flower Extract, Lily Flower Extract, Glycolipids, Lotus Leaf Wax, Iris Root Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Grape Leaf Extract, Helichrysum Essential Oil, Buriti Fruit Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Decyl Glucoside.
Review: I LOVE this moisturizer. Yes, it has lavender essential oil, which irritated my peri oral dermatitis a tad, but I used it in the mornings (before washing) as a thick, hydrating layer before running outside to walk the dog and my skin loved it! It is rich with omega-3 fatty acids from the Avocado Oil, Buriti Fruit Oil and Iris Root, and the Grape Leaf infuses the skin with powerful antioxidants.
But my favorite part, aside from the luxurious feel and soothing tingle, is the scent! The florals mixed with ginseng is intoxicating. I use it now religiously as my neck and chest cream each night and it’s like drifting off to sleep at Tammy’s Palm Beach spa (or so I imagine.)
Scent: HEAVEN! Soft hint of florals, fresh and crisp.
Tips: Apply to dry skin. When applied to wet or damp skin (post toner) the cream does not absorb well.
